Styrofoam – The original Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) product
STYROFOAM™ was manufactured by Dow from the 1940s to 2018. In 2018 Dow Chemical sold the rights to the EU XPS business to leading plastics specialist Ravago.
The process of extruding foamed polystyrene results in a material with uniformly small, closed cells, a smooth 'skin' and an unrivalled set of properties which make it the choice of specifiers in a wide range of demanding insulation applications.
Dow Chemical (Ravago), the leading XPS manufacturer has developed new technology to significantly improve the thermal resistance of Styrofoam. This has resulted in a new product type called XENERGY™ Styrofoam.
